First National Bank presents the Southern New Mexico Festival of Quilts! Gorgeous quilt displays, a variety of vendors, and a food court filled with tasty treats! Pam Holland and Sue Rasmussen will be holding classes and Ricky Tims will be holding a concert performance! Seating is limited so book early for all the classes you’d like to attend! Head over to the Heart of the Desert for a fun day of instructor supervised acrylic painting on canvas while enjoying a glass of wine! No painting experience required! Xochitl Flores will be instructing and your canvas and tools will be provided. An apron or smock is recommended for you to wear so your clothes will be safe. Afternoon starts with a wine tasting and a glass of wine for you to take back to your station. Tickets are $35 a person and must be purchased prior to the event. Saturday, June 9, 2018 ~ Junior Ranger Day

Calling kids ages 5-12 (and their families)! During this fun-filled day, you’ll be on a mission to complete a series of tasks to earn your esteemed junior ranger pin! Expert scientists will lead kids in activities including birdwatching, hiking, animal identification, and more! At the end of the day, there will be a campfire and song circle (complete with s’mores)! Restrooms and water will be available on site. Regular Vehicle Permit is required at $5 per vehicle or a Federal Lands Pass. At the La Cueva Picnic Area in Dripping Springs, Las Cruces from 2 pm to 8 pm! Monday, June 4th-6th, 2018 ~ 2nd Annual Lady Tiger Youth Basketball Camp

K- 8th Grade! Sign up for Alamogordo Lady Tiger Basketball Camp! Have fun while building up your skills and fundamentals! Camp runs the 4th through the 6th from 9am to noon at the Alamogordo High School gym. Cost per camper is $40 and includes three days of instruction, daily fundamental drills, team games, contests, and a camp t-shirt! Registration starts 8am on June 4th in the Tiger Pit. Saturday, June 2, 2018 ~ Run/Walk Through the Clouds

Get moving in the Run/Walk Through the Clouds! Start and finish at the Pavilion in Zenith Park in Cloudcroft, next to the tennis courts. Medals will be awarded for 1st-3rd in age groups for the 10k run. All kids will receive a dog tag award for the 1 mile dash as well as awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to the fastest 3 kids. There will also be a bouncy house for the kids to play in. Cost to participate in the 10k is $30 per person and the 1 mile Kid’s Dash is $10 per kid, proceeds go to the Cloudcroft Student Athletes. Cost includes an awesome performance race shirt and food for after the race, catered by the Cloudcroft Schools Culinary Department. Register online here! Alamo Jump will be open on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm for a fantastic fundraiser! Admission is $5 to jump and 50% of admission goes back to the Sandmen Baseball Team. This is a local youth team 10 years and under that travels to El Paso, Las Cruces, and other baseball tournaments. Tues, May 15, 22, & 29, 2018 ~ Summer Reading Program Volunteering

Calling Kids finished 5th grade or above! Volunteer your time to help out at the Alamogordo Public Library! You’ll help kids get registered for the summer reading program, hand out prizes, and assist with other odd jobs. Only requirement is attending one of the Library’s three training sessions in May and sign up for your time slot. Volunteers only need to work 2 hours a week though you can do more if you want. Third Saturday of the Month

This monthly meeting is free and open to the public. Adult meeting is at 1 pm and Youth meeting is at 3 pm. Meetings are held at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in meeting rooms 3 and 4.

BUSINESS IMPACT/GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Second Tuesday of the Month

This monthly meeting is free and open to the public. Join the committee to discuss issues, events and that could influence the community. This event is the second Tuesday of each month in the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce Conference Room at 8 am.

TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
Last Friday of the Month

This committee discusses land and air transportation issues impacting the Tularosa Basin. The committee meets the last Friday of each month at Pepper’s Grill at noon.
